I agree with Ghecko on the beginning part... once the track has a bit more of a steady pulse it's easier to "get" just because it sounds a bit too out of sync in the beginning... sometimes that's ok depending on what you are playing though. Around 1:30 you have a fantastic moment that sounds like a soundtrack from a movie.

I dug the way you get sucked in to that dreamy emotion. I can see that this track isn't quantized, which is interesting and a little bit of an attention grabber at times. I'd suggest being a bit careful with some of the drums being a bit too out of sync at times even though I enjoyed the unpredictability.

man your ideas are all there, good melodic sense and nice beat. I could definitely hear this at a venue, though if I were to remix it I'd put some subtle long reverb on some of the sounds and made the kick a bit more prominent.. that's dance stuff, I dig it!

Chemiqals responds:

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate it!

I somewhat disagree that this track is "empty" as Deshiel said. My impression is that a track could be even more sparse and still work... reverb is a neat tool to really give the sounds the space they need. Sometimes I like layering a sound with more than one reverb or messing with longer reverbs if I think it sounds empty.

Chemiqals responds:

Thanks for the ideas and listening! =D

synth sounds excellent as usual. Good melodies and interesting composition. One suggestion I have is to watch the kick from being buried in the mix... you could try eqing some of the synths away from the low frequencies where the kick is felt, or level out the mix so the kick is a bit more prominent. Ok off to hear more of your stuff!

Chemiqals responds:

Thanks for the suggestion! =)

I always enjoy listening to originality. Ultimately it's a little more vulnerable to go your own way but that's what makes it worth it, in my opinion

Chemiqals responds:

Agreed! ^_^

I really dug this one. Nice beats and perfect length.

All the sounds and the production are great.. very complex and sometimes I wish I had the patience to put something that complex together. I would suggest working on melodies more. People are drawn to them and it's another level of exploration to build melodies

be careful with using compression on the master track, the kick and drums get lost over the higher volume of the synth (the entire track's volume is brought down because the synth is over the threshold)! In this style of music you want the kickkkkkk! You might consider sidechaining the kick if you are going to use that level of compression, or level out the mix a bit. Still, I enjoyed the composition.

Kloudtana responds:

I didn't sidechain the master but i agree that the kick doesn't pop as much as i meant for it to. I guess it kind of got lost as i went through mastering. Thanks for the great feedback

About the drop... i found it to be pretty good. Now as far as some of the comments, I think the issue is the pad synth still sounding right through the drop. If it were lightly tapered out right before the drop, it would make the drop be felt a little more. I enjoyed the track. I always question whether drops are really needed and if they need to be "heavy" as has become cliche in dubstep music. It might not be super well received at first but I always think it's interesting to question cliches and experiment with new things you invent.
